Hi auntie,

How are you? I hope you're well. I'm writing to tell you about my new friend.
His name is Arnau and he's 14 years old. He is a very good persona, is nive and generious. He lives at 10 minutes from my house in porqueres. He loves playing basketball but he doesn't like animals so, he doesn't have any pets at home. We have the same hobbies, for example running, listening to music, or watching films...

Lots of love,
Berta

Last weekend I got up at 9 a.m. Then I went rode my horse. After that, we went home and we had lunch. We went to Palamós and we stayed there for all the weekend. Me and my family we went to watch te sea and walk and at the same time we took photos. For Sunday lunch we went to a restaurant and we ate 'paella'. Finally when we arrived home I went to bed at 11 p.m.

FORMAL EMAIL

Dear Editor, I’m writing in response to an article I came across yesterday’s edition of your newspaper. I was disappointed to read comments stating that foreign language classes should not be compulsory in secondary schools. As a student of Spanish who is about to do my school leaving exams, I would like to point out the benefits of learning a language. Firstly, there is an advantage of communicating in a one language when you are travelling. Languages can also help your career. When you are searching for a job, you are more likely to get an interview if you list another language on your application form. Next, languages learning is not only allows us to communicate, but also improves our abilities in another areas. Finally, languages are essential in promoting unterstanding between cultures. Kind regards, Berta Crous

HIGH HAIR

Would you like to style your hair this way? This is the world's highehst hairstyle, and it was created by hairdressers in Australia. They used human and syntheric hair, plus decorative elements to make a braided tower.  It has held the world record since 2009!

MAYPOLE DANCING IN MAY

This pagan tradition began in villages in England and Wales in 1350, but in the 1700s the Church banned maypoles. Today, the tradition is celebrated on 1 May. Dancers hold coloured ribbons as they dance around a tree trunk. Today, it's not a pagan festival, but it's food fun!
