Hi Peter

My name is Berta and I'm 15 years old. I have one small brother, he's 12. I like animals, dogs and horses.We have 2 horses. My brother and I practise horseball but I don't like football. Im going to Casa Nostra school. It is next to my house, near the lake. My favourite subjects are technology and geography. The teachers are good.

Last year, my friend Sam went to South America. He went with her mother, her father, her sister, and her grandmother. He told me that the weather was terrible, because it was very hot. They stayed in a good hotel and visited the most important places for example, the teserts, beaches,... and he took lots of good photos. He loved the trip to South America.

MY LAST SUMMER Hi, today I'm going talk about my summer holidays. First of all, I'm going to talk about my trip to Ireland and finally, I'm going to talk about my trip to Venècia. Well, when I finished school, on the second week of July I went to Ireland for two weeks. I stayed with another family in a big house with 4 people. In the morning we went every day to the stables for the horses and we rode them for two hours. When we finished the class, we went for a walk with horses in a forest. It was amazing. After that, we went to differents place to visit, for example: shopping centres, big park, cinema... The two weeks went away very quickly and then it was time to return to Banyoles for two weeks and then 3 days to Venècia. Finally, when I arrived home I prepared all the things to go for 3 days to Venècia. It was very nice. These 3 days finished very fast. We visited many places in Venècia. Dear Editor, I’m writing in response to an article I came across yesterday’s edition of your newspaper. I was disappointed to read comments stating that foreign language classes should not be compulsory in secondary schools. As a student of Spanish who is about to do my school leaving exams, I would like to point out the benefits of learning a language. Firstly, there is an advantage of communicating in a one language when you are travelling. Languages can also help your career. When you are searching for a job, you are more likely to get an interview if you list another language on your application form. Next, languages learning is not only allows us to communicate, but also improves our abilities in another areas. Finally, languages are essential in promoting unterstanding between cultures.
